The Swaner EcoCenter would like to invite all Summit County students to participate in the 2008 Swaner Nature Festival Art Challenge.

For 2008 we have two themes:

Kindergarten – 4th grade: "Swaner Wildlife"
5th grade – 12th grade: "You And Nature."

4th Annual Swaner Nature Festival

Date: June 21
Time: 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Basin Recreation Field House
Cost: Free!

Round up the family and walk, run, bike or carpool to the Nature Festival--local environmental organizations, live music, a kids' art tent, nature walks, food and a native plant sale.

Weekly Nature Walks

Each Wednesday year-round, Swaner EcoCenter Land & Education Managers Erin Spear and Nell Larson, or a qualified docent, hosts a one-hour nature walk onto the Preserve. The walks generally begin at 8:30 a.m. although start times are flexible. Discussion items include wildlife identification, wildlife of the preserve, the history of Wallin Farm, the history of Swaner EcoCenter, and the future goals and aspirations of the Swaner EcoCenter. If you plan to attend, please come in weather and season-appropriate attire. Snowshoes can be provided if needed. RSVP's are necessary and need to be submitted by the Tuesday before the walk.
